Our shooting day, I felt ran smoothly and went pretty well! The day of the shoot, we had pretty much everything ready. We just needed to grab last bits, like the fake blood and equipment before we went off campus. The equipment we used was a camera and tripod, we used the mini bus to pan a shot of our actress Pip running, and we had fake blood, household tools, one light and the boot of a car. All that we had planned before hand went well, obviously things changed but we fulfilled all of the tasks in the one-day. We only had a few changes, it was more of experimenting with different camera angles, and trying out panning, using different tools, and we didn’t plan on just using one light, we had a bit of natural light and one light in the right hand corner. It didn’t disrupt our day at all, we had all day and we were sticking to our timing, so we had time to experiment with different effects and I’m glad we did, as some of the shots which we were experimenting with are really good. When we tried the panning in the mini bus, it looked really effective and I felt brought a more professional insight to the piece. Having time to use different tools in the torture sequence means that the scene will look extra brutal which is exactly what we want. Our torture scene went really well, Pip our actress worked with us, and any suggestions we had she would go ahead with and try her best. If we had the chance to do the day again I would have maybe taken some time before the day to work out with the group, exactly what tools we would use and how, because quite a lot of time was taken up by us discussing how we are going to use the tools, and gathering bits, like fake nails to make it look as real as possible. I really enjoyed the day and I also enjoyed the lead up to it; having to plan an idea, picking actors and choosing props. Where we filmed it, at our Media teacher’s house was a perfect location. It was close to school, and the room already had the right look and as it was a work shop, there were tools available for us to use. Once we had finished, I was very pleased and felt the day had gone successfully and can’t wait to see it after it has been edited.
